Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Flooring Installer Helper. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced flooring installers while learning the skills and techniques necessary to become a proficient flooring installer. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and committed to developing a career in the flooring industry.Key

Responsibilities

On-the-Job Training:

  • Participate in comprehensive training programs designed to provide a solid foundation in flooring installation techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Shadow experienced flooring installers to observe and learn best practices in areas such as subfloor preparation, layout and cutting, installation methods, and finishing techniques.
  • Assist with installation tasks under the guidance and supervision of experienced installers, gradually gaining hands-on experience and proficiency.

Material Handling and Preparation:

  • Assist in the preparation of installation areas, including moving furniture, removing old flooring materials, and cleaning surfaces to ensure a smooth and level base.
  • Learn how to handle and transport flooring materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently, following established procedures and safety guidelines.

Quality Assurance:

  • Learn how to perform pre-installation assessments and inspections to evaluate subfloor conditions, identify potential issues, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Assist with the layout and positioning of flooring materials, ensuring proper alignment, pattern matching, and adherence to design specifications.

Customer Service Support:

  • Interact professionally with customers and team members, providing assistance as needed and representing the company in a positive and courteous manner.
  • Assist in addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and issues, under the guidance and supervision of experienced installers or supervisors.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for oneself and others.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
  • Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials, including adhesives, solvents, and waste products.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some prior experience in flooring installation is preferred; however, a strong interest in learning and developing skills in the trade is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and perform manual labor tasks for extended periods.
