Alkemist Labs is Hiring an Analytical Chemist I Near Garden, CA

Duties and Responsiblties:

  • Operates general analytical instrumentation including HPLC, UPLC, GC, & LC-MS; analyzes data, calculates and reports results. Analyzes botanical ingredients, finished products and other samples as directed.
  • Performs wet chemistry & UV/Vis analyses; prepares volumetric solutions, test solutions, and maintain solutions including a solution stability program.
  • Maintains excellent documentation & controls to ensure data integrity.
  • Executes assigned projects and activities in compliance with SOPs, GDP, cGMP, FDA, and DEA regulations & guidelines.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation of records, logs, and laboratory notebooks as required by SOPs and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Maintains and peer reviews laboratory notebooks per GDP.
  • Ensures the cleanliness, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and work area to ensure compliance with all company policies, SOPs, GLP, and cGMP. Ensure lab is audit ready at all times.
  • Ensure necessary consumables, chemicals, and standards are available to meet client requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instruments as necessary.
  • Performs appropriate administrative functions to assure compliance with government regulations, cGMPs, GDP, ISO 17025, and company policies including editing and reviewing departmental SOPs as needed.
  • Other duties & projects as assigned including method development, verification, & validation.

Required Skills:

  • Competent in general Analytical Chemistry; at least 2 years of direct experience with quantitative analytical HPLC is strongly preferred.
  • Strong mathematics and statistical analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products is required; Waters Empower experience preferred.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Natural Products Chemistry.

Education

  • Minimum of 2 years of analytical chemistry laboratory experience required.
  • B.S. in Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, or closely related field required.
  • Natural products or Dietary Supplements industry-related experience a plus.
  • Experience working with a cGMP quality management system strongly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
