Alkemē Restaurant is Hiring a Floor Manager Near Santa Fe, NM

Alkemē at Open Kitchen is an innovative Culture-to-Table restaurant that opened in June 2023 in the heart of Santa Fe https://alkeme-santafe.com/. For over a decade, Open Kitchen has created and curated original, unforgettable gatherings that celebrate joyful human connections. Our new restaurant brings to Santa Fe a unique fine dining restaurant with an Asian heritage cuisine reimagined menu.

Chef-Owner Hue-Chan Karels and Executive Chef Erica Tai are reinterpreting heirloom recipes from their culinary roots of Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, and Hawaii's Pacific Rim in a modern context, combining traditional and contemporary techniques to create exciting layers of flavors and diverse textures. Alkemē’s curated full liquor beverage menu harmonizes with the flavor profiles of our dishes, from eclectic wine and beer to creative craft cocktails and mocktails to heighten the overall dining experience of our guests. Position Summary
The role of the Floor Manager is a key component of the management operation at Alkemē and functions as a core team member to create memorable, unparalleled hospitality and culinary experiences for our guests and cultivate and maintain the Alkemē brand of fine dining and guest experience.

-On a daily basis:

o Manage the reservation system by organizing all reservations, confirming reservations, and arranging seatings by sections/servers to ensure smooth service.

o Apply business savvy skills to maximize seating space and accommodating walk ins and large parties.

o Oversee performance of host(s) and greet and seat guests.

o Present/describe food and drink menus and develop positive and warm rapport with guests; assist guests in their menu selection process by offering suggestions, ideas, and information about menu items from ingredients to preparation methods.

o Handle all guest concerns or complaints in a timely professional manner.

o Provide the highest quality service to guests.

o Manage and effectively communicate special requests for celebrations such as birthdays, from repeat and VIP guests, and private events.

-Ongoing:

o Help maintain a database of guests via OpenTable, establish positive business connections with local concierges, and seek innovative ways to increase awareness of Alkemē to develop business.

o Treat every guest, team member and vendor with respect and dignity. o Understand, plan, and execute established sequence of service.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years restaurant experience (fine dining and upscale casual) with minimum 2 years in leadership/supervisory/management position.

  • Must have documented legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 of age.
  • Must have valid/current New Mexico approved Food handler’s certification and alcohol server’s permit.
  • Strong knowledge of front of house operations including customer service, food and beverage, financial management, inventory, personnel management, payroll, recordkeeping, and alcohol and food regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including delegation, training, and motivation to build a strong team.
  • Proficient in various computer software programs such MS Office, restaurant management software, POS (Toast preferably), and reservation system (OpenTable preferably).
  • Strong understanding of fine dining restaurant etiquette.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills; has ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently and proactively.
  • Excellent communication skills (via phone, email, and in-person). Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining area. Strong time management skills.
  • Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift.
  • Positive attitude and can work independently and in a team setting.
  • Demonstrable personal integrity and honesty.
  • Strong wine and spirits knowledge.
  • Genuine love of hospitality.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in work performance and its impact on restaurant’s success.
