Position Overview:

Are you passionate about ensuring the stability, scalability, and efficiency of containerized infrastructure? Alkami is seeking a dynamic Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a specialization in container technologies to join our team. As a senior-level position within the realm of Site Reliability Engineering, you'll leverage your extensive technical proficiency in container orchestration and management while demonstrating strong leadership abilities to drive the organization's reliability initiatives forward. You will be instrumental in maintaining the reliability and performance of our containerized infrastructure, making this role essential to our continued success.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Serves as an expert in the field and principal advisor. Provides, guides and uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues. Applies extensive knowledge of theories, practices and design matters.
• Leads the application of existing principles and guides development of new ideas
• Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. Creates formal networks with key decision makers and is widely recognized as expert and thought leader by both internal and external communities.
• Serves as external spokesperson for the organization. Provides, guides and uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues including technical guides with best practices, review of infrastructure proposals, and IaC pull requests
• Works on issues that impact program success or addresses future concepts and products. Solutions are devised based on limited information and require judgment. Implementation of solutions requires a longer term view which impacts strategic goals and objectives.
• Identify opportunities for process and system improvements and contribute to ongoing performance and cost optimization efforts
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continually improve the platform
• Participate in a on-call schedule
• Create infrastructure and processes documentation designed for cross functional consumption

Qualifications:

• 12 years experience in a DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering role
• Serves as an expert in the field and principal advisor in multiple cloud platform specialties
• Accomplished in scripting and automation using tools used by DevOps professionals such as Python, Bash, Powershell, or Java/.NET development
• Broad experience creating infrastructure-as-code (IAC) with scalable design
• Well versed with modern CI/CD tooling focused around rapid container deployment.
• Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, and security principles.
• Expert at using automation tools. Build, provision, deploy, test and monitor
• Excels at communicating complicated infrastructure through diagrams
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form. Adapts communication style to audience and uses persuasion in delivering messages across the organization. Demonstrates executive presence
• Expert presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Leads cross functional teams to resolve complex problems
• Provides mentorship cross functionally
• Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Leads cross functional projects to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
• Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups
• Accountable for results, which may impact the organization
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation as assigned

Desired Skills:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related field
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of regulatory standards or experience working in a PCI environment
• Previous experience with Git or a similar source code management system
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Certification: Professional level cloud, Kubernetes, IaC certification such as CKA, CKAD, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer
