Position Title: Clinical Therapist

Footprints to Recovery’s approach to drug and alcohol treatment offer is simple; we listen and make use of new methods, research, and activities to assist in recovery. We offer PHP, IOP and Outpatient levels of care for adults with primary substance abuse disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. From the first contact to individual, group, or family sessions we work with our clients to develop a personalized plan that addresses individual needs.

We are seeking a dynamic Clinical Therapist to provide counseling services including assessment, treatment planning, utilization review, ASAM review, individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, case management services, advocacy, discharge planning.

Responsibilities Include:

• Completes documentation in a timely manner
• Provides counseling services including group counseling, individual counseling, family counseling, and crisis intervention and completes all documentation accordingly
• Establishes and maintains knowledge regarding documentation with the electronic medical records system: KIPU
• Maintains familiarity with the process of obtaining a verification of benefits (VOB)
• Establishes treatment plans and determines appropriate length of stay based on clinical needs of client
• Completes and documents urinalysis and breathalyzers
• Provides case management services to referral sources
• Provides clinically appropriate referrals for ongoing care when necessary or at time of discharge
• Completes all aftercare planning request forms and documentation in a timely manner
• Collects and prepares data as requested by the clinical director
• Facilitates group counseling in accordance with the established clinical program
• Maintains and obtains all appropriate credentials regarding substance abuse counseling and mental health licensure
• Collaborates with psychiatric nurse practitioner, licensed practical nurse, and medical assistant to ensure comprehensive care is provided to clients

Minimum Requirement Include:

• LAC/LPC or LSW/LCSW required
• LCADC, EMDR and/or Trauma training preferred.
• Valid NJ driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Able to work collaboratively with multiple health and criminal justice professionals using tact, diplomacy, and discipline
• Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other personnel
• Clinical knowledge pertaining to substance use disorders, mental health diagnoses, as well as trauma specific populations

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated expertise in recovery-oriented, evidenced based practice
