The Role Summary:

Responsible for the provision of youth Training using the Evidence Based Curriculum, and providing Prevention presentations to the community in support of Program services. Work requires that staff promote proactive processes to address and promote health and wellness for individuals, family, and communities by enhancing protective factors, and by precluding negative factors which place individuals at risk for substance abuse. Work requires basic concern for quality of care, appropriate for helping for helping at risk youth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Youth training using the Evidence Based Curriculum to youth attending the training program.
• Participating in the program to include administration of surveys to each participant, and appropriate referral if needed.
• Provide problem identification and referral to appropriate community based agencies.
• Documenting attendance and participation in a timely manner in compliance with agency policies and procedures, including documentation of services provided documentation of referrals made, progress and follow-up reports and other timely status and compliance reports as requested by the Program Supervisor.
• Providing information about intervention of drug, alcohol and tobacco use; keeping current to literature and developments in the field.
• Implement and become familiar with key measures for reporting purposes, and maintain appropriate CSAP strategies pertaining to program design.
• Attend specific training in the curriculum implemented for prevention education/skills training before facilitating sessions independently and specific 15 hour training as required.
• Prepares and maintains records as required and administer consent forms and participant files on a timely manner.

Required Education and Experience:

• Associates Degree in Psychology, Education, Sociology or related field.

• Have designation of CPS or APS or achieve APS designation within 20 months of employment.
  • • • • ~AND~
• Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience ;
  • • • • ~OR~
• Any combination of education and experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.
