In this role the candidate will ideate new technologies, proof of concept testing, RFP's and network design for AT&T broadband network.Key ResponsibilitiesApplies engineering principles and practice in broad areas of complex technical project work that requires in-depth analysis using advanced techniques, knowledge, and expertise.Provides technical expertise within project teams.Develop networking designs to support initiativesCommunicate and provide documentation for issues identified to both vendor and internal teamsRepresent the group internally across the company to provide functional and technical leadership and externally to submit vendor feature requestsConducts design and development work in the areas of new products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security and QA Design/CertificationRequired EducationBachelor's degree or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Informational Technology, Data Communications from an accredited university.PhD in an approved field with 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Required ExperienceAdvanced knowledge in L2/L3 Networking/Routing (CCIE level expertise) is required with a proven track record with experience in IP, routing, switching, Segment Routing, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, VPN, eVPN, IPv4, and IPV6.PON (Passive Optical Networks) including technology such as DWDM, Optical Test and Diagnostic (OTDR/OSA) equipment and Optical Network engineering is desirable as well.Experience with broadband standards bodies like ITU-T, BBF, FSAN is a plus.Candidate must have strong communication skills both verbally and written as well as strong problem solving skills.Our Principal Member Technical Staff earn between$180,200.00 - $270,400.00.
