We are a newly renovated Full Service Award Winning hotel seeking a responsible Maintenance Technician who wishes to advance themselves and their career with our company Spark Hotels. We operate a 108 room hotel with full catering, banquet and restaurant facilities.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assisting in all maintenance department operations and ensuring company standards are adhered to.

Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Duties are inclusive of preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance. Performs general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance standards are achieved and maintained.
• Works on preventative maintenance and energy conservation.
• Assists in checking and makes minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Refurbishes furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters.
• Paints and finishes furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed.
• Accountable for maintaining building and grounds with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection.
• Help to increase guest and associate satisfaction through effective communication and training.
• Must be knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.
• Ensures all communication pertaining to hotel, IHG brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations.
• Impresses guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.
• A complete understanding of all building related equipment -- HVAC, Plumbing, Kitchen, Laundry, Pool, etc.
• Follows company preventative maintenance procedures and guidelines for guest rooms, equipment, public space, grounds, landscaping, and building facade.

Requirements: Candidate must have at least 2 years of previous hotel maintenance experience or relative experience.

• MUST be reliable and punctual

The major responsibility in this position is preventive maintenance, therefore a significant portion of the day is spent ensuring all equipment is properly functioning (TV, plumbing, electrical lights, HVAC). The vast majority of time is spent climbing, standing or walking while making repairs in the hotel. This person must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress and or completion of the assignment. Carrying or lifting items that weigh approximately 100 lbs. occurs often. Reading and writing abilities are utilized some of the time when having to receive written instructions, or to document the progress of certain repairs. Basic mathematical skills are used some of the time.
