Position Summary: The Waterfront Coordinator has the general responsibility to organize and implement a diverse and safe swim program and manage the work of assigned staff and/or volunteers.

Essential Functions: 

• Develop, plan, organize, and administer a well-rounded aquatics program including progressive swim lessons, open swims, canoeing, basic water safety, and emergency water drills.
• Manage, schedule and monitor the performance of assigned staff and make recommendations to Camp Director as needed. Complete end of season performance evaluation for assigned staff.
• Formulate the goals and objectives to achieve the purpose and mission of the swim program and submit it to the Camp Director.
• Recommend needed supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance and safety standards to be met for proper functioning of waterfront area.
• Keep accurate and adequate records of attendance, participation and progress for all swim classes, instructor’s names, participants, and dates.
• Hold weekly in-service training for waterfront staff.
• To providing a safe, healthy, and fun experience for campers on the Waterfront during Camp Tracy.

Requirements

 Knowledge/Education/Certification: 

• It is desirable that the Waterfront Coordinator possess a bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation, or other related field. 
• Should possess a current Lifeguard Training certificate, CPR for professional rescuer, first aid for the professional rescuer, with preference towards LGI.

Experience: Must be at least 21 years of age. In lieu of a degree, prior work experience at Camp Tracy or other like disciplines will be preferred. Prior scheduling and marketing experience strongly preferred.
