Here at the Alfond Youth and Community Center, our main goal is to serve children and their families, and much of the great work we do here is funded through grants! The AYCC is looking to add another person to our grants department. Help make a difference in the lives of children and the rest of our community by joining our grants team!

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Research, write, submit, follow progress, report on, and fully manage the grants process in support of the program operations of the Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC). Responsible for the full life cycle of the grant writing process, including research, writing, editing, proof-reading, budget preparation, coordination of contract documents and renewals, and ensuring the integrity of grant dollars. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Research appropriate grant opportunities for the organization.
  • Ensure that grant goals are met by writing grant applications and managing all aspects of grant awards.
  • Complete grant application requirements on a regular basis and be reasonably successful in acquiring grant awards.
  • Follow departmental methodology for implementation and tracking grant data, including outcomes. 
  • Maintain integrity of grant awards by ensuring that grant requirements are met. 
  • Work with Program Directors to ensure grant reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Maintain relationships with major foundations, corporations, and other sources of funding. 
  • Work with Grants Team to assist with editing all grant submissions so that every proposal is reviewed by at least two team members. 
  • Assist the Development Department in the successful execution of fundraising events as requested by the Director.
  • Maintain consistency of brand in materials produced by all departments before dissemination.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

Requirements

 KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is recommended; must include heavy concentration in writing.
  • Working knowledge of MS office & databases.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Grant Writer I – seasoned grant writer with at least 2 years prior experience writing grants

 SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Exceptional writing and organizational skills
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to prepare & produce reports
  • Communicate well with other staff, the public, and children.
  • Maintain confidentiality
