Completes incident reports in a timely manner and submits to AST for review and approval.
Transport and/or guard prisoners as required.
Delivers crime prevention and education materials information.
Serves process as assigned by the state troopers.
Enforces State law with regard to aggressive animals.
Investigates animal cruelty and neglect complaints.
If qualified may administer rabies and other vaccines to animals.
Assist the Department of Corrections (DOC) Probation and Parole with the management and supervision of probationers and paroles residing in the community.
May assist the Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) with formal and informal supervision of juvenile clients residing in the community.
May assista local health care provider with providing immediate care to a critically ill or injured patient.
5.Roving VPSO, Temporary Duty (TDY)
Provides all normal duties required of a VPSO.
May be stationed in a "hub" community.
Routinely travels to communities within the region.
Provides VPSO services in communities where a VPSO is either not present or in need of assistance.
Assist and travels with Alaska State Troopers to communities when requested.
Transports prisoner from outline communities to a regional holding facility.
At the direction ofthe VPSO Program Coordinator may Remain Overnight (RON) in communities on a regular basis for up to 30 days.
Performs other duties as assigned by the VPSO Program Coordinator
