ELECTRICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs various electrical trade functions such as installing, maintaining, or repairing equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training experience.

The ideal candidate must be able to work an 8-12 hour shift for a customer with a 24 / 7 requirement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Install or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, lighting ballasts, LED drivers, pole lights, or other transmission equipment.
• Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment
• Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Use a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
• Perform preventive maintenance services on numerous facilities post-wide!
• Exposure to heat / cold, noise, dust mist, and / or fumes requires the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, fall protection harnesses, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hats, and hearing protection.
• Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / TRAINING

• Minimum high school diploma
• Journeyman / Tradesman State License.

EXPERIENCE

• Five (5) years of experience as an electrician in light commercial facilities maintenance and repair
• Basic computer skills and adequate verbal and writing skills.
• Knowledge of confined space entry and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Preferred experience with power generation equipment above 250 KW

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Some climbing and balancing.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and / or crawling.
• Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 40% walking, and 45% standing.
• High noise levels are common with general maintenance.
• Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
• Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Limited physical accommodation is available.
• This role requires work in office settings and non-office settings such as machinery rooms, electrical distribution centers, server rooms, and industrial locations.
• Work requires exposure to heat / cold, noise, dust, mist, and / or fumes.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Requires wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test.
• Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
• Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in the English Language per contract.
