Position Summary:
The community wellness specialist will engage in environmental and educational strategies and will also address availability and accessibility of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs in the targeted community.
Primary Responsibilities:
-To assist the camp leader in providing substance abuse prevention to population of focus as approved by the Department of Mental Health and Aletheia House.
-To participate in all scheduled camp activities
-To maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all prevention activities
-To submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required by DMH and Aletheia House
-To attend and participate in community-based efforts as directed by Community Wellness Camp Leader
-To assist in leadership activities and other training activities as directed.
Qualifications:
-Must be an undergraduate student with a major in psychology, social work, education, or related field.
-Experience working with children and adolescents a plus.
-Prior experience in substance abuse treatment/prevention a plus
-Good driving record required
-Motor Vehicle Report required if driving on behalf of Aletheia House
Travel:
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
Hours/Schedule: Part-time, Non-Exempt, 8am-4pm
