Acara Solutions is seeking a Sales, Use & Property Tax Associate for our client, a national nonprofit organization!

We are seeking qualified candidates with:

• A demonstrated understanding of sales, use, and property taxes
• Experience in the nonprofit industry

Here's what you'll do:

• Timely preparation, filing and payment related for monthly sales and use tax returns in all applicable states.
• Develop, document and maintain internal processes for payment of taxes and filing of related returns.
• Remain current on state and local laws related to sales and use taxes and property taxes, and perform research as needed for tax positions and responses to tax notices.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for any state or local audit requests or related inquiries.
• Preparation and filing of property tax returns in all applicable states and localities.
• Timely preparation, filing and payment for federal and state withholdings generated, including Form 945.
• Preparation and filing of unclaimed property returns in all applicable states and localities.
• Timely preparation and filing of business licenses and permits and liquor licenses.
• Monitoring status and renewal for all sales and use tax and property tax exemptions.
• Develop working knowledge of organization programs and operations.
• Gather and analyze monthly reports that will be used for preparation of returns.
• Ad hoc projects and additional duties as assigned.

Type: Contract to Possible Direct

Pay: Up to $37/hr. **Depending on experience

Hours: M-F 1st shift hours **100% Remote

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3 years' tax accounting experience in a nonprofit environment.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
