Description
Acara Solutions, is seeking a Controller to join our client located in Auburn, CA (NE of Sacramento). This is a direct salaried position with full benefits.
The salary range is $145K - $175K plus bonus.
Local Sacramento region candidates only. A seasoned Controller or an Accounting Manager ready for the Controller spot. 3 direct reports.
The Controller is a business partner to the General Manager and plans and directs all aspects of the plant's financial policies, objectives and initiatives. The Controller is responsible for the attainment of short and long-term financial and operational goals and directs the development of the organization to ensure future growth. The Controller performs a variety of tasks and leads and directs the work of others and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Lead financial teams to obtain goals and meet deadlines while managing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise accounting personnel including cross training of key personnel.
- Coordinate monthly closing with other departments and address comments and questions from the Executive Leadership team.
- Complete risk assessments for both property and product liability
- Ensure Sarbanes Oxley controls and monthly certifications are up to date.
- Support and drive CBS initiatives across the site and own Value Stream Map for the Finance group
- Coordinate and manage outside audits (Sales Tax, Research & Development (R&D) tax credit, State Tax, Property tax, Federal, City, internal audit)
- Work with internal auditors to ensure compliance.
- Perform cash flow review, analysis, and monthly financial forecasting.
- Perform monthly financial analysis including commentary and forecasting.
- Provide key metrics with detailed analysis.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related
Min 10 years in accounting that includes the majority of the following:
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial planning
- Government accounting, wire transfers and certain treasury functions
- Buy vs. Make decisions and Tax accounting (Tax Depreciation, Sales and Operating Profit by geographical location and R&D tax credit);
- Ability to leverage business decisions and quickly assess financial impact.
- Manufacturing experience (a must have)
- SOX
- Experience working for a publicly traded company (highly preferred)
Min 3 years of experience with Oracle or SAP (Oracle preferred)
Min 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
This is an ITAR facility - U.S. Persons Required (Green Card Ok)
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Aerospace/Defense experience
Good understanding of cost accounting within a manufacturing organization
