Location InformationFive Star Senior Living's corporate headquarters are located in Newton, Massachusetts. Just 20 minutes outside of downtown Boston, the building features easy access to public transportation and the Massachusetts Turnpike.
Key ResponsibilitiesSummary: Reporting to the Director of Operations
  • Financial Planning and Analysis, the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis will support the broader organization in budget planning and financial forecasting related to historical performance, future assumptions, and business targets. This role requires both strategic and tactical involvement in the company's financial forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, and special ad-hoc projects. The FP&A Manager is responsible for generating and analyzing various monthly and quarterly reports, working with internal stakeholders to understand business factors, and providing meaningful analysis and insights to support business decisions. A successful individual will challenge the status quo and handle multiple priorities simultaneously, working well within a team, independently, and cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a finance business partner to the leadership team and community regional and local leaders.
  • Perform high-impact analyses of business results, identifying trends, variances, and potential opportunities, leveraging and synthesizing multiple data sets.
  • Collaborate with department managers to understand their financial needs and challenges.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, including partnering with various functional budget owners.
  • Communicate and advise the management team on financial matters.
  • Provide reforecasting every month and identify gaps to the annual budget.
  • Develop end-to-end analyses in support of critical strategic decision-making.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for analysis related to key business performance indicators.
  • Generate and analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Support financial transparency on a real-time basis to operations leadership through weekly cost analysis, revenue forecasting, and labor management programs.
  • Assist operations and liaise with Information Technology on building business intelligence data sets for real-time analysis.
  • Continuously improve FP&A processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and value-add of the function.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience in multi-unit senior living operations preferred.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in core financial and operations systems such as Workday, DOMO, OnShift, Salesforce, and PointClickCare.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to be able to translate financial results into meaningful insights.
