Ascent, an Alera Group Company is seeking a RIA Operations Associate to join their Virginia Beach team! 

A dynamic and rapidly growing RIA and asset management platform supporting 40 advisorsand over $3 billion in wealth assets under management is seeking an RIA Operations Associateto support database administration and operations processing efforts. Core responsibilities arefocused around supporting new account opening and ongoing account maintenance activitiesthrough the firm’s primary technology platform, Orion Advisor Services. This key role will helppromote an efficient operational workflow for all new accounts established across the RIA. Thisposition will expand a strong and experienced existing team to help the group continue drivingscale and building a more robust operations department

• Supporting the Operations team throughout the new account onboarding process byleading database administration efforts in Orion
• Collaborating with colleagues to contribute to the efficient processing of investmentadvisory account paperwork and related agreements
• Communicating closely with staff via email, phone, CRM, and the firm’s service ticketingsystem when accounts are established and over time to support ongoing client needs
• Oversee user access management at Orion, with an opportunity to support the firm’sbroader use and strategy across Orion for a candidate with the right experience\
• Leveraging RIA platform technology, including operational efforts at the firm’s custodialplatforms (Schwab and Fidelity), with a significant opportunity to do more in this areafor a candidate with custodial operations experience
• Manage and configure the Orion database effectively to support the firm’s use of Orionto track metrics
• Support adherence to business, compliance, regulatory, and operational processingrequirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, operations management, or arelated field
• 1 year of RIA operations or wealth management industry experience is required
• Experience with Orion (preferred) or similar RIA technology/database is highly desired
• Proficiency working with Microsoft Excel and data is required
• Experience with Schwab and/or Fidelity custodial platforms is highly valuable
• FINRA Series 65/66 registration is helpful but not required
• Detail-oriented and adept at prioritizing and completing tasks in a fast-paced setting
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are essential
