Purpose

Aldridge Pite, LLP has an immediate need for a remote Senior Paralegal. The Senior Paralegal will provide a range of legal support and administration to lawyers and other legal professionals engaged in the firm's practice of representing financial institutions in bankruptcy, foreclosure, residential real estate or mortgage law. A Senior Paralegal position is not exempt from overtime laws.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Assisting attorneys in the representation of clients in judicial foreclosure proceedings including, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Process primarily the sales and post-sale work load of the assigned states according to Aldridge Pite procedures, internal goals and client/insurer/investor requirements. Other stages or processes may be assigned as needed.
  • Handle the more complex processes including but not limited to processing probate files.
  • Complete QC responsibilities assigned.
  • Train staff on stage processes, company policies and procedures, procedures for each judicial state handled within the team, client and investor requirements.
  • Review client alerts related to Judicial foreclosure team assigned and ensure compliance.
  • Draft and update SOPs for the assigned team or processes.
  • Handle escalated matters for the assigned team/stage
  • Identify and analyze process gaps and identify opportunities for increased efficiency 
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, briefs, motions and agreements
  • Electronically file pleadings within strict deadlines and manage/organize high volume incoming electronically filed pleadings 
  • Proof legal forms and documents for accuracy.
  • Organize and track case files.
  • Provide timely responses/updates to clients.
  • Communicate with courts, title vendors and other third parties
  • Monitor and handle tasks for the judicial foreclosure caseload assigned
  • Ensure that billing is completed in a timely manner at all billable events and milestones
  • Handle other projects or tasks assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working as a Senior Paralegal or Paralegal
  • At least 3 years’ experience with Hawaii Judicial foreclosures
  • Experience with client third party systems (BKFS, VS, Tempo, Clarifire etc required
  • Paralegal certificate required.

  • Must possess excellent ability to communicate with all clients, vendors, internal departments (via client systems, email, and phone)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products 
  • Overall positive attitude and willingness to adapt to change 
  • Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills 
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner 
  • Must be a team player and willing to help others in judicial foreclosure Department whenever necessary
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Excellent research, analytical, critical thinking skills.
