The Opportunity: Permit Coordinator
The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is seeking a full-time Permit Coordinator for its Engineering and Development (E&D) Department & Maintenance and Operations (M&O). Located in the fast-growing Puget Sound region, AWWD is focused on the expansion, maintenance and replacement of its critical infrastructure. AWWD currently employs 148 employees, and the Development workgroup is responsible for review and approval of plans for developer water and sewer extension agreements. The Permit Coordinator reports to the Planning and Development Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing permitting related support including preparing, submitting and tracking inter-agency permits for AWWD staff, projects and developer extension projects. The Permit Coordinator supports several different workgroups in the E&D and M&O Departments; may work at multiple AWWD office locations; and visits construction work sites.
The Permit Coordinator must be committed to improving the workplace and providing strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional internal and external customer service. This individual should feel comfortable with computers and be able to successfully navigate and learn about various programs.

The 2024 pay range for this position is $37.56 - $50.33 hourly, with a hiring range of $37.56 - $43.48 hourly, depending upon experience and qualifications.
The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District provides an array of employee benefits that we feel contribute to an overall desirable compensation package for employees. While employed with AWWD, you will participate in the Washington State PERS retirement program. We also offer a 457 deferred compensation plan with a 4% employer match (2024 adopted amount and subject to annual change), voluntary participation in a ROTH IRA plan, a medical benefit opt-out incentive paid into a Retirement Health Savings account, three options for health and welfare benefits (one plan at no cost to employees and two plans with a 6% employee premium share (2024 adopted amount and subject to annual change), dental and vision plans for full-time regular employees at no employee expense, access to EAP services, a robust Wellness program, participation in a Commute Trip Reduction program and Employee Assistance program.
