Position Summary:

Employee must be able to meet Triton safety standards at all times as well as meet Triton attendance and performance standards and improve his/her skills in a reasonable amount of time as determined by supervision to meet quality, efficiency delivery, and other Triton Goals

Employee must be willing and able to transfer skills to perform any other duties in any other Triton positions as required by supervision

Employee must be willing and able to work overtime when needed as determined by supervision.

Employee must be able to work independently, Employee must perform all assembly tasks in any Building 5 fabrication area, perform highly repetitive line assembly, and paint and metal/weld prep for paint operations on gen set,Tc,cover or pontoon trailers. Including but not limited to: Prep trailer: wiring, grommets, lights and decals. Test lighting; check whole alignment for axle and tongue area .Employee must follow all instructions as directed, to Triton Drawing specifications and direction by supervision and be alert to visually detect obvious defects. Employee must be able to operate robot to an acceptable production rate, and perform any other necessary duties as directed by supervision. Work is given close supervision, inspection and check; instructions and guidance provided on new work, procedural variations and difficulties. Follows directives of Production Leader in the absence of the Production Line Lead, Must be able to learn and demonstrate safe work practices and follow all safety rules at all times . Must be able to understand and demonstrate good team participation skills. Must be able to learn understand and demonstrate lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts daily.

Perform all paint prep, grinding, cleaning, wiping and other required steps as needed or directed, as well as participate in all assembly procedures. Employee must be able to read blue prints, follow job orders, demonstrate good assembly and prep techniques, prep weld joints that are both visually acceptable and mechanically sound to industry standards. Employee must follow all Triton procedures for steel trailers. Will perform and maintain all setups to Triton time and quality standards. Must recognize and be conscious of all quality, tolerance and accuracy standards of finished trailers while demonstrating acceptable safety and efficiency. Must be able to understand and demonstrate instructions and guidance provided on new work, procedural variations and difficulties. Employee must be able to clearly describe in writing and document any and all actions or issues that could lead to improvements in any SQQEDI board area. Must comply and participate in any root cause analysis investigations or subsequent improvements.

Position Duties:

  • Follow all safety standards
  • Know, understand, and follow all ISO standards as they apply to Triton Trailers
  • Follow and participate in all lean and continuous improvement activities
  • Work as part of a high-performance team, understanding that all cover or other area activities are required as directed as needed during the course of any work day as required to facilitate single piece flow and lean continuous improvement standards
  • learn understand and successfully demonstrate continuously proper scanning techniques as directed by supervision
  • Completes work center requirements to established Triton performance standards on a continuous basis.
  • Demonstrates safe and proper use of all hand and power tools as required, in the assembly and fabrication of Triton components, assemblies and finished products
  • Complete any documentation required daily or as directed, including all required actions on SQQEDI board
  • Completes all work to all Triton, safety, quality, efficiency, delivery and other standards as instructed
  • Reads job order and blueprint specifications.
  • Understanding the unit’s unique properties, apply proper techniques, and use equipment effectively to complete units that are both visually and mechanically acceptable to Triton standards
  • Check the blueprint and job order before starting any operation. Refer to blueprint throughout the day.
  • Operate and setup machinery efficiently while maintaining supervisor’s 1st piece inspections on all trailers, parts and ramps. (All 1st piece inspections are checked to job order and blueprint).
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Demonstrate timely communication of needed supplies throughout the day following stated procedure
  • Verifies specifications by inspecting completed component.
  • Responsible for daily operator maintenance and proper use of the equipment he/she is using, as required to TPM standards. Responsible for notifying the supervisor, in writing, of the need for equipment repairs using SQQEDI board in addition to verbal notification
  • Documents actions and performance using current procedures. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all scanning procedures in accordance with the job order. Verify job orders.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing and documenting assigned tasks and documenting in writing or scanning as needed.
  • Recognize acceptable quality standards, quality procedure and measurements to drawings to eliminate defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship and general quality. Double check job order to finished product.
  • Evaluates and recommends changes in methods and procedures.
  • Must be able to follow directives and procedures and complete paperwork.
  • Ensure no material is used or moved unless it has a part number on it.
  • All counts must be consistently accurate.
  • Work area must be maintained as clean and organized.
  • Work in compliance with all safety, quality, quantity and housekeeping standards in accordance with company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Willingness and ability to perform any other work ,to acceptable standards ,as required by supervision, as needed.

Education / Training Required

  • Aluminum or steel welding experience is desired
  • Fabrication experience is required ,including use of Hand tools and common power tools
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and demonstrate AT ANY AND ALL TIMES, proper safety standards, ISO procedures, Quality procedures, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement standards and techniques
  • Must be able to read blueprints. Must pass blueprint test with a score of 75% or higher within 60 days of hire or transfer
  • Must be able to read and demonstrate tape measure competency and follow a job order.
  • Good math skills are required. Must be able to give accurate counts and perform necessary calculations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Must have legible, neat penmanship.
  • Physically fit to perform heavy lifting assignments – minimum of 40lbs lifting required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
