Job Title: Residential Program Coordinator
$2,000 hiring bonus!! (certain stipulations apply)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field required. Certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor by the Iowa Board of Certification. The certification requirement may be waived as long as the employee is making satisfactory progress toward the achievement of certification within two years from the date of employment. Other professional licenses or certifications may substitute for these requirements at the discretion of the Executive Director. Valid driver’s license with good driving record required. Completion of Urine Specimen Collection certification, Breath Alcohol Technician certification, Mandatory Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Reporting certification, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCIT), First Aid/CPR required within 6 months of hire.
Reporting Supervisor: Associate Director of Treatment
Duties: 1. Coordinate with referral sources for all intakes into the residential program which is to include the admission process and orientation to the program in compliance with agency policy and procedures, State Licensure requirements and CARF requirements.
2. Responsible for managed care utilization requirements including pre-authorizations and ongoing continued stay authorizations (continued stay completed as a backup for residential counselors) for all applicable residential clients.
3. Supervision of Counselor Aides and all related duties such as: scheduling, performance evaluations, ongoing trainings and monthly meetings.
4. Serve as a back-up counselor to assist in covering normal residential counselor job duties (outlined below) as determined by need and requested by supervisor.
5. (When serving as back-up counselor) - Maintain a client caseload in accordance with assigned duties. With each case, the counselor will provide for detailed records which reflect intake procedures, a social history, a comprehensive treatment plan, treatment progress, aftercare, referral and patient management as set forth by the State Licensure Requirements.
6. Provide for individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and family therapy according to the needs of cases and as requested by the supervisor.
7. Identify those needs of the client which are incapable of being satisfactorily met by this organization and make an appropriate referral. Provide the community awareness/education as requested by the supervisor.
8. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all client treatment in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and rules (e.g. 42-CFR-2 for substance abuse clients).
9. Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment: Residential treatment setting with minimal exposure to noise or temperature variation.
