Pay Type: Salary, bi-weekly.

Work Setting: Retail Store.

Work Location: 554 State Rd 46, Amery, WI 54001.

Country Store Hours: 

  • Monday - Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Saturday: 8:00am to 12:00pm.

Retail Store Manager Essential Responsibilities:

The Country Store Manager to manage and direct the day-to-day operations of the retail store to maximize sales, increase profitability, improve employee satisfaction, and exceed customer expectations. 

  • Ensures the retail store is providing customer service that meets or exceeds standards and customer expectations. Maintains high standards of store image ensuring that the store is clean, well-stocked, and ready for business. Oversees merchandising activities & promotions, authorizing clearance sales, studying trends.
  • Supervises and mentors/coaches direct reports in the performance of their duties for employee development. Completes performance reviews and provides regular performance feedback to direct reports. Manages employee schedules and PTO requests. Manage work schedules for full-time & part-time employees to ensure proper staffing.
  • Train direct reports on job expectations. Trains and communicates new procedures to direct reports as necessary.
  • Ensures the store maintains hours of operation as posted, operates within established inventory levels, salary budgets and other controllables, and gross profit margins to achieve maximum profitability. Accountable for building store sales and gross profit margins through implementation of corporate merchandising policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Regularly complete price surveys of the competition and observes competitors for changes. Execute price changes in a timely fashion, per policy.
  • Monitor employee, vendor, and customer activity to ensure ethical conduct; maintains and reviews store security surveillance.
  • Assist at cash register and loading purchases. Accept/Process orders and collect/process payments. Account management/ new account set up. Screens and directs customer calls and responds appropriately to the needs of ALCIVIA customers and employees.
  • Supports, upholds, and enforces all policies, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations within store operations and with staff.
  • Maintains a safe working area and keeps walkways clean of slip or trip hazards. Follows company and location safety policies and promptly reports all accidents by employees, customers and vendors that occur on company premises. Performs housekeeping activities as needed including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and servicing restrooms, emptying garbage, and dusting and cleaning store. Ensures that shelves and product is well organized. Maintains and cleans the grounds and parking lot.
  • Occasionally may be required to travel (regionally) to attend Management meetings or trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Retail Store Manager Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous Retail Manager/Supervisor experience is required.
  • Previous Customer Service experience is required.
  • Wisconsin Alcohol Seller/Server Training (age 18 and older) is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required. 
  • Forklift Certification is preferred.
  • Propane Certification is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated.
  • Ability to work collaboratively for the benefit of all business units.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including sorting, filing, distributing, etc.
  • Safety first mindset.
