Albright College is seeking applications for Camp Guide. Total Experience Learning® provides students with a focused research experience in a cutting-edge academic environment.

Students will be exposed to a wide variety of disciplines through research curricula, career / research presentations by experts, and mentored independent research experiences.

TExpL camp guides provide students with the opportunity to develop a research project and will serve as guides and facilitators of the TExpL program.

Essential Job Functions :

Camp Guides are critical members of the TExpL team and will be responsible for a variety of tasks and duties. Most importantly, camp guides will be asked to provide an exciting, challenging, and rewarding experience for all students.

All TExpL camp guides will :

  • Th emain focus of the camp guide will be to escort camp participants around campus or off campus in vans as needed.
  • Participate in a debrief meeting that will discuss feedback on the Total Experience Learning® summer program following program completion.
  • Be punctual for all scheduled summer sessions.
  • It is your responsibility to notify your summer supervisor, and / or the Coordinator of Pre-College and Summer Programs as soon as possible if you cannot attend on your assigned date / time.
  • Report any problems or concerns to the Director of the TExpL Summer Program.
  • Serve as a role model for all students seeking academic assistance.
  • Followcollegepolicies;establishandmaintaincredibilitywithinthecommunity;andbehavein accordance with the College’s values and expectations.

Camp guides will be responsible for all duties described above during the summer at Albright College or other assigned location.

Part-time hours will be scheduled according to intern availability and need.

Qualifications / Prerequisites :

  • COMMUNICATION Excellent communication skills to assist camp participants throughout the campus.
  • LEADERSHIPANDMANAGEMENTSKILLS Demonstrated understanding of equity and inclusion and evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

Strong interpersonal skills and capacity for extensive networking with students and professionals.

OTHERSKILLS Honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, and perspective; a strong work ethic, supported by meaningful response, commitment, and follow-through.

Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive and equitable Albright community, as described in Albright College’s Inclusivity and Equity Statement.

  • EMPLOYMENTEXPERIENCE Dedication to inspiring elementary and / or middle and / or high school students in an extracurricular environment.
