Albion Fellows Bacon Center is Hiring a Survivor Services Navigator Near Evansville, IN

JOB SUMMARY: The Survivor Services Navigator represents the vision, mission, and core values of the Albion Fellows Bacon Center (AFBC) by providing impactful, relevant, accessible, and high-quality direct services in a survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and voluntary service compliant manner for domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking survivors designed to foster overall well-being, safety, and stability through coaching, motivating, supporting, removing barriers, connecting to resources, providing tools and training, preparing and empowering victims of harm to become survivors and thrive on their own terms. Assists the Survivor Services Coordinator with nurturing and cultivating an equitable, supportive, inclusive, diverse and engaging work culture within the department and the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Performs proper triage with all program clients, conducts their intake and orientation into the program, and ensures that an individualized service plan is developed with them aimed at assisting each survivor to thrive.
  • Provides crisis intervention, advocacy, support, information, and referral services to primary and secondary victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.
  • Provides victims and program participants with resources available in the community to assist them with achieving their goals in improving well-being and safety.
  • Provides assistance and advocacy to victims during hospital exams, police investigations, court proceedings, and in meetings with other agencies or individuals.
  • Provides emotional support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking pursuing criminal and civil complaints against their perpetrators and assists in filing protective orders, law enforcement reports, and violent crime compensation claims.
  • Provides essential transportation services for program participants in accordance with Albion Fellows Bacon Center’s (AFBC’s) rules and regulations.
  • Completes business-related local travel on a daily basis to locations including, but not limited to: court, community partners, hospitals, doctor offices, clinics, schools, law enforcement offices, attorney offices, churches, shelters, businesses, bus stops, airport, humane society, etc.
  • Co-facilitates with other Survivor Services Navigators, as assigned by the Survivor Services Coordinator, group programming for program participants in accordance with the Albion Fellows Bacon Center’s (AFBC’s) schedule and guidelines.
  • Ensures all program services are delivered in a warm and supporting culture and according to a voluntary service and trauma-informed care standards, and that they are in compliance with all funding source guidelines to include Peer Review.
  • Works to empower program participants to achieve goals to assist them in improving well-being and safety and that those services are provided in the spirit of Albion Fellows Bacon Center’s (AFBC’s) guiding vision, mission and core values.
  • Assists the Survivor Services Coordinator with developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with relevant community resources to ensure appropriate referrals for resources which a survivor may need or want, including decent, safe, and affordable housing options, to establish safety, well-being, and/or permanent housing beyond Albion Fellows Bacon Centers (AFBCs) services.
  • Ensures all required programming data and outcomes, as well as client file documentation (including electronic client database) is completed accurately and in a timely manner according to standards and provides outcome data and reports on programs services for the Survivor Services Coordinator as requested.
  • Participates when requested by the Survivor Services Coordinator, in the internal client case review process to measure and ensure adherence to established service protocols and practices.
  • Assists the Operations and Facilities Department with cleaning and preparing guest rooms, when needed.
  • Represents the Albion Fellows Bacon Center (AFBC), as assigned by the Survivor Services Coordinator, on various relevant community work group and task forces to ensure the needs and concerns of survivors are communicated.
  • Acts as a mandatory reporter and engages with the Department of Child Services (DCS) in the event of any suspected child abuse or neglect.
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of volunteer policies and procedures.
  • Assists the Survivor Services Coordinator with identifying opportunities for volunteer and community partnership resources and communicates these prospects to the Survivor Services Coordinator, and actively engages program volunteers by providing adequate supervision and job-related training.
  • Assists the Survivor Services Coordinator, as assigned, with promoting the Albion Fellows Bacon Center’s (AFBC’s) mission and services in the community through presentations at local schools, businesses, and churches, and completes reports to provide data on presentations.
  • Promotes an open and supportive flow of communication within the department and with other departments.
  • Engages in meetings and workshops that enhance the mission of organization.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.28 - $21.39 per hour
