What you will be doing
As a Sr. Staff Cyber Technical Specialist you will be crucial in protecting our digital assets by identifying, assessing, and collaborating with different groups to support the resolution of vulnerabilities in our cloud infrastructure and applications. As an engineer, you will work closely with our cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks based on risk and impact, develop strategies to mitigate such risks and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA or Plano, TX.
Main responsibilities

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments across our infrastructure, networks, and applications.
• Analyze vulnerability scan results, security logs, and incident reports to identify potential threats and weaknesses.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities on time.
• Develop and maintain automated tools and scripts for vulnerability scanning, detection, and reporting. Experience in managing and redesigning the scans as determined necessary.
• Research emerging threats and security best practices to continuously improve our vulnerability management program.
• Provide guidance and recommendations to internal teams on secure practices and configuration management.
• Partner with Penetration testing teams and review results to recommend remediation actions.
• Lead Proof of Concepts on security tools, identify gaps, and report on suitability to Albertson's environment.
• Design and implement policies, processes, and procedures for the tool selected from the POV process.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
• Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts.
• Document and communicate findings, recommendations, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership.
• Stay informed about industry trends, security standards, and regulatory requirements related to vulnerability management.

The salary range is $ 157,900 to $ 205,300 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What we are searching for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in an information security role, Incident response or security operations is desirable.
• Retail experience is highly preferred but not required.
• Azure/GCP/Cloud experience and/or certifications highly preferred.
• Information security professional certification desired (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.).
• Ability to contextualize information security work in a business context.
• Strong understanding of risk management methodologies and regulatory requirements about information security, privacy, and/or data security.
• Experience with data analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SAS, or R is preferred.
• Analytical aptitude in emphasizing investigative, methodical critical questioning, and logical thinking; a data-driven decision maker.
• Ability to drive toward consensus and be a strong collaborative partner in a large, complex organization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present technical information and tailor responses to customer understanding.
• Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability, and thorough follow-through.
• This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to assess vulnerability and respond to incidents.
• Work may be performed remotely or on-site, depending on organizational needs and policies.
• The role may involve occasional travel to attend conferences, training sessions, or meetings with external partners.
