Position Summary This position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger and financial statements for one or more program entities of the Foundation for Senior Living, under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager.Essential Functions:% of TimeReview daily bank deposits and post bank transactions.Enter work order payments and update work order receivables in subsidiary systems.Reconcile bank accounts at month-end.Complete payroll allocations and other expense allocations.Prepare cost reimbursement billings.Complete Work-in-Process calculation for various programs.E-file sales taxes.Post journal entries after reviewing the support documentation.Book adjustment and accrual entries as needed.Complete account reconciliations including intercompany accounts.Maintains fixed asset, debt, and other supporting schedules/documentation.Maintains current accounting related contract files for assigned programs.Ensure the accuracy of program entity information in the general ledger and financial statements.Provide financial information and support to the Home Improvements team, including senior leadership.Assist in budget preparation.Assist with internal and external audits.Serve as back-up to other accountants.Ad hoc reporting as required. 95%Other duties as assigned.5% RequirementsEducation/Experience/Credentials/Knowledge/UnderstandingBachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in accounting or a related field. Two to three years applicable general ledger accounting experience. Significant accounting experience with a non-profit (7-10 Years) will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. Skills & AbilitiesPrior ERP system experience. Great Plains experience greatly preferred.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to work with a high volume of transactions and detailed information.Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Must be able to work with multiple deadlines, possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Professional maturity to work with senior FSL level management and work with confidential information.Working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.Flexibility and adaptability to new priorities and responsibilities.Ability to work independently, but also as a part of both the accounting and the program entity team.Must have a passion for the work that FSL does and the clients the organization serves. Physical DemandsPrimarily office work, however travel within the state may be required. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Must be able to visually and auditory assess and interact with staff and vendors. May lift up to 25 pounds.
