What you will be doing

To ensure the proper recording and reporting of payroll/financial transactions with the proper internal control systems and provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to effectively manage the Distribution operations toward profitable business results.

The position will be based in Melrose Park, IL. 

Main responsibilities

• Prepare with assistance from clerical staff/review/distribute weekly reporting to include the labor report.
• Supervision of clerical staff to include contractual interpretations with assistance/review from Associate Relations Manager and Accounting Manager.
• Identify/coordinate/resolve time clock/server issues.
• Serve as back up for all Port menu attendance issues.
• Review and serve as back up for invoice payment and open receipt research.
• Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare journal entries to ensure accurate account balances for period end financial reporting.
• Review account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
• Utilization of clerical support staff to complete department functions and special requests accurately and timely.

What we are searching for 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field, and/or equivalent work experience in accounting.
• Possess ability to analyze, interpret and report financial data.
• Possess effective communication skills, both oral and written. 
• Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone.
• Strong PC skills required.
• Possess supervisory skills and ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
