What you will be doing

Join us as Production Manager at our Commerce, CA Bread plant! As the mastermind behind our baked delights, you'll oversee every aspect of production, from sourcing premium ingredients to ensuring seamless operations on the factory floor. With your passion and your knack for efficiency, you'll inspire and lead a dedicated team to churn out products that bring joy to customers everywhere.

As the Production Manager at our Bread plant, you'll be responsible for orchestrating all aspects of the production process to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality ice cream products. Your role will involve overseeing production schedules, managing inventory levels, optimizing equipment utilization, and maintaining adherence to quality and safety standards. You'll lead and motivate a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth operations and consistent product quality. Additionally, you'll collaborate with other departments such as procurement, quality assurance, and distribution to streamline processes, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that our ice cream delights customers and maintains our reputation for excellence in the market.

The position is located in Commerce, CA and the expected salary range is $125,000 - $145,000 annually. 

Main responsibilities

• Strategic Production Leadership:
  • Lead and coordinate daily food production activities with a focus on efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure the timely execution of production schedules to meet demand. 
• Team Culture:
  • Supervise and motivate production staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team. 
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance skills and maintain a skilled workforce.
• Quality Control:
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to uphold product excellence.
  • Conduct regular inspections to guarantee adherence to food safety standards.
• Operational Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to boost productivity.
  • Implement changes that enhance efficiency while maintaining product quality. 
• Resource Management:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to boost productivity.
  • Implement changes that enhance efficiency while maintaining product quality. 
• Safety Compliance:
  • Enforce and promote a safety-first culture among production staff.
  • Conduct regular safety training and inspections to ensure a secure working environment.
• Regulatory Compliance Expertise:
  • Stay informed about food safety regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies during inspections to maintain industry standards. 
• Budget Oversight:
  • Manage the production budget effectively, balancing cost considerations with operational needs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. 
• Innovative Problem Solver:
  • Address production challenges promptly and implement effective solutions.
  • Encourage a proactive problem-solving approach within the production team.
• Communication:
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and quality assurance, to streamline processes.
  • Foster open communication channels to address inter-departmental challenges. 
• Performance Excellence:
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge production performance.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to continuously enhance production processes. 

What we are searching for

• Three (3) or more years of leadership experience in a production environment.
• Two (2) or more years working with Lean Manufacturing principles.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

• Strong production background – the ability to turn data into action.
• Ability to manage and develop employees.
• Ability to interface with regulatory agencies.
• Strong skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, - and PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
