What you will be doing

Albertson’s Companies is looking for people who are interested in re-imagining the grocery experience by harnessing the power of digital technologies to optimize how we reach our customers. The Audience Insights Lead will work closely with Media Planning, Client Success, Analytical Consulting, Measurement Science, and other relevant stakeholders across the Retail Media Collective to deliver best in class results. 

The position will have remote availability, be based in Pleasanton, CA, or one of our corporate or divisional locations.

Main responsibilities

  • Acts as a critical lead in the development of strategic marketing and new media plans utilizing vast 1P data to meet or exceed assigned business goals for CPGs.
  • Represents the voice of the customer, providing innovative insights and audience strategy recommendations to drive success for partners.
  • Works closely with cross-functional team to continually develop audience optimizations and strategies to boost media performance.
  • Helps develop, implement, and optimize custom insights and targeting packages for clients, delivering meaningful applications for a wide range of partners that are aligned to their respective strategic initiatives. 
  • Ensures routine and timely completion of audience insights deliverables to all relevant stakeholders aligning with a continually improving, best-in-class level of quality. 
  • Works closely with Media Planning and Client Success teams on day-to-day operational processes including:
    • Campaign audience development, strategy, and efficient delivery of insights and recommendations.
    • Identifying opportunities for audience success and areas of improvement, refining the process & optimizing deliverables as needed for partner success.
    • Providing optimization recommendations for targeting/ segmentation based on insights and performance to meet specific campaign objectives.
    • Attending and leading client meetings to ensure clear understanding and high level of trust in delivering insights and media recommendations.
  • Manages projects that increase efficiency and accuracy for providing insights, recommendations, and overall value to the team.
  • Assists in product and external vendor development functions, including user testing, giving feedback, and managing updates/ addressing opportunities as needed.
  • Helps to build a strong, collaborative, and kind team to foster a supportive culture of inclusion and diversity.
  • Manages additional project workflows as necessary to drive continual innovation and competitive positioning.

The salary range is $95,400 to $123,900 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within retail; preferably grocery, e-commerce, or CPG.
  • 5 years of experience in analyzing and developing media insights and recommendations.
  • Proven track record of utilizing data and research tools to foster innovative strategy.
  • Experience with collaborating and delivering on multiple project deadlines, emphasizing a high level of prioritization.
  • A passion for insights, performance, and telling compelling stories with data.
  • Hands on experience with a broad set of analytics tools and willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow as a team lead.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite of tools and experienced in insight generation, strategy recommendation, and project management.
  • Ability to develop business relationships, influence, and collaborate across all functional levels within a broad organization.
  • Excellent soft skills and the ability to clearly answer complex questions and resolve operational issues quickly.
  • Proficient presentation skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to build, motivate and lead teams to successful results.
