Join our team as a Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor!

Albertina Kerr empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges and other social barriers to lead self-determined lives and reach their full potential!

As the HIM Supervisor you will oversee Albertina Kerr's Health Information Management operations and staff. You will serve as a liaison between Albertina Kerr Center Program management and external parties in matters related to complaints and grievances, abuse allegations, and reporting. The HIM Supervisor will support the Quality Assurance Team in areas of data collection, report development and maintenance, policy changes, rules and regulations, accreditation, compliance, and contract requirements, as related to Health Information Management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises activities of HIM staff, including training, evaluation, task assignment, priority establishment, etc.
  • Conducts policy design and implementation of standard work processes, in alignment with regulatory requirements and state and federal laws.
  • Develops and maintains processes that comply with all state and federal regulations (HIPAA, etc.).
  • Oversees HIM staff consultations to agency staff on HIPAA requirements, information releases, filing and chart compliance requirements.
  • Oversees correction of recordkeeping deficiencies for the clinical staff in order to meet accreditation and state standards.
  • Conducts data collection, tracking, and analysis in areas of accreditation, compliance, State/Federal regulations, and contract reporting requirements.
  • Acts as the point of escalation for internal complaint and grievance process to ensure compliance with policy timelines.
  • Supports the Quality Assurance Team with maintenance of performance improvement plan, accreditation standards, Variance Requests, Licensing renewal application process and internal/external audit support and facilitation as needed.
  • Supports clinical staff in meeting payer documentation, licensing and accreditation expectations through data tracking.
  • Acts as liaison with the Revenue Cycle Department regarding client documentation to support billing.
  • Acts as QA liaison in assigned meetings.
  • Leads Quality Assurance project management and process improvement as assigned.
  • Follows all rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree or experience in Human Services Field, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field. RHIT Certification preferred.
  • Prefer at least two years’ experience performing compliance related activities.
  • Must be proficient in Excel and databases.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, well organized, and possess problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to work with tight deadlines and adapt to rapidly changing conditions in work environment.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet all background check, reference, and/or credentialing requirements.
