We are a basic science lab focused on understanding the epigenetic mechanisms governing the biology of stem cells, development and cancer. We utilize embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells and mice as model systems to study how DNA modifying enzymes reshape the epigenome and regulate development and cancer. We anticipate our staff to be involved in lab work ranging from basic molecular biology and tissue culture to mouse embryo analyses and mouse colony maintenance and management.

1. Breeding, weaning, genotyping and maintaining lab mouse strains.
2. Mouse and human fibroblasts and embryonic stem cell culture.
3. Basic molecular biology work: PCR, cloning, electrophoresis, DNA/RNA/Protein preps
4. Maintenance of lab stocks, solution preparations, lab organization
5. Occasional after hours and weekend hours if some experiments require.

6. Experience and being comfortable working with mice is essential.

7. Embryo dissection and handling and histology is preferred but not required.

8. Must be organized, punctual and easy to work in a team of 6-8 people.

The person will:

• Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures;
• Require occasional guidance;
• Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies;
• Rarely modify technical procedures;
• Rarely train other lab members;
• Rarely guide other lab members;
• A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
• Occasionally analyze data;
• Rarely interpret data;
• Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.

• Required to have at least a Bachelors Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.
