Alaska Primary Care Association is Hiring a Project Coordinator - Health Equity Near Anchorage, AK

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Workforce Development & Health Equity (WF/HE), the Project Coordinator position provides data and project support to Alaska Primary Care Association’s (APCA) WF/HE teams. The primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with the Director and WF/HE managers to meet organization, department, and grant goals and objectives effectively and efficiently. 

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the administration, monitoring, and continuous progress tracking of all activities within assigned projects. This position is also responsible for collaboration with members of the WF/HE teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of grant, project, program, and participant data. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

Other duties may be assigned, as necessary. 

  • Track and regularly assess project progress and engagement using various strategies and tools including (but not limited to): software, databases, digital platforms, one-on-one communication, feedback surveys, etc. 
  • Coordinate, collect, organize, evaluate, update, and analyze various forms of data as it relates to assigned projects, programs, services and/or activities.
  • Monitor deadlines, contracts, subrecipient agreements, MOUs, activities, and/or grant tasks associated with assigned projects. 
  • Help carry out WF/HE grant activities. Some examples may include (but is not limited to): coordinating data and document collection, scheduling meetings with internal and external customers and partners, researching guidelines and best practices, submitting grant information and data reports, and ensuring project timelines are on-track.
  • Support, assist, and contribute to the preparation of agency, department, and grant reports.
  • Accurately enter information and data into state and federal data portals as directed by the WF/HE Director and/or APCA leadership.
  • Evaluate and analyze systems and data sources for accuracy, integrity, potential problems, and technical hitches.
  • Report project status, outcomes, and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed or requested—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans. 
  • Collaborate with WF/HE team members to develop and continuously improve project and data processes for efficiency, accuracy, integrity, and to meet grant/funder/agency requirements and deadlines. 
  • Follow and contribute to the development of APCA policies and guidelines relevant to workforce projects as assigned.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, APCA staff, stakeholders, and partners. 
  • Act as a point of contact for customers, contracted vendors, and/or partners as directed by the WF/HE Director and/or APCA leadership.
  • Participate in technical assistance training, office hours, webinars, and/or learning activities associated with assigned projects.
  • Grain knowledge and expertise of grant data portals and data entry requirements.
  • Maintain communication with grant coaches and technical assistance to resolve issues and/or make necessary updates as directed by the WF/HE Director. 
  • Oversee daily administrative, operational, and logistical activities/tasks associated with WF/HE projects as assigned.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and efficient work environment.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications / Knowledge 

Required 

  • Associate’s degree in related field or related year for year experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • 1 year of experience in project and/or data coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills supported by documented experience and professional references.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of a computer for work processing, spreadsheet use, communication via email, and for conducting research via the Internet. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows required.

Preferred 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3 years of experience in project and/or data coordination. 
  • Previous experience in community health centers, the Alaska healthcare industry, primary care associations, social service, and/or non-profit settings.

Supervisory Relationship 

  • Received 
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Workforce Development & Health Equity. Performance is assessed through review of work, integration, and cooperation within the Department and APCA, communication with all stakeholders, quality and timeliness of deliverables and associated criteria.

Language Skills 

Required 

  • Fluency in written and spoken English required.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills. 

Travel Required 

In-city travel by personal vehicle for meetings, tasks, and errands as needed. In-state travel may occur. Mileage is reimbursed per APCA policy.

Hours per Week 

This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week. Generally, the hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Work Environment 

Duties will generally be performed in an office setting with travel and associated accommodation throughout the local area, the state of Alaska, and the Lower 48 as needed.
