Summary:
Job Summary: Under general supervision, provides electronic, in-person, and telephone support for pre-authorization staff through administrative duties related to scheduling, and operations.

Responsibilities:

Reviews approved leave and staff availability for the pre-authorization staff, receives and initiates phone calls from pre-authorization staff for unexpected staffing changes. Creates, adjusts and maintains daily pre-authorization staffing assignments adequate to ensure timely submission of pre-authorization requests.
W orks in collaboration with the Manager of Financial Clearance to create, maintain and report quality and operational markers to include, but not limited to, Current Daily Census, Current Daily Encounters Pending, Monthly Completion Record, Pre-authorization productivity.
W orks in conjunction with the Clinical Referral Specialist to collect and report pre-authorization quality measures including Pre-Authorization Outcomes Report, Peer to Peer / In Lieu Of Results Report, Average Length of Review (LOR) Reports.
D elivers a high level of service for both internal and external patients, vendors, providers, case managers, and insurance representatives electronically and telephonically in an efficient, professional and timely manner, taking appropriate action to resolve schedule and outcome concerns or complaints.
P erforms other duties as assigned.
