Summary:
Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for training, monitoring and auditing patient admissions, registration activities, productivity reports and training staff to ensure quality and compliance throughout the department.

Responsibilities:

Acts as lead trainer for all staff to ensure competencies with processes and procedures in the Patient Registration Department.
P erforms audit duties to ensure quality within the Patient Registration processes and daily workflows.
R esponsible for data collection and dissemination, determining any trends, and providing feedback to employees and management. Identifies areas of improvement and participates in developing strategies to drive team performance. Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive quality assurance system within the Patient Registration Department. Develop program improvement plans with input and feedback from Managers and/or Supervisors in Patient Registration Department.
A ssess the various monitoring tools and when necessary, create effective quality assurance tools to evaluate and assess staff training needs that will lead to individual and team performance benchmark settings.
C onduct Quality Assurance program audits and make written recommendations of improvement to management based on audit findings.
P rovide quick, pro-active response to ensure correct processes and procedures are being followed throughout the Patient Registration Department within Patient Access.
R eviews charts and encounters to assure the record is complete and accurate, including signatures and supporting documentation; Ensures information and required documents have been obtained to meet eligibility criteria.
M aintains the confidentiality of patient records and complies with all laws and policies of patient confidentiality.
S upports Patient Registration leadership in developing current and long-range Patient Registration goals and objectives, and in the achievement of those goals and objectives.
M ust be willing to work evenings, weekends and at different locations.
P erforms other duties as assigned by management.

M INIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
M INIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
N on-supervisory: Four (4) years’ experience in patient registration in a hospital setting.
P REFERRED EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
A ssociates degree in the health sciences or business administration fields.
P REFERRED CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
C urrent Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) OR Active membership in National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM)
P REFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
O ne (1) year of supervisory experience within the Patient Registration field.
