Summary:

Under general supervision this position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations and administration of Human Resources, ensuring all functions are carried out in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards. This position supervises the Human Resources front desk staff and oversees the operational administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to the Human Resources front office staff.
Oversees the day-to-day administration of Human Resources Specialist staff.
Manages new hire onboarding appointment check-ins record keeping procedures and timelines.
Answer questions and resolve complaints and concerns. Deal with more complex internal and external inquiries.
Organize and oversee front office staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels. Approve leave requests and organizes staff calendars to ensure all functions remain covered.
Contribute to overall administrative and staff direction, developing program goals, priorities and trainings. Meets regularly with Human Resources leadership to discuss/resolve workload and program issues. Collaborates with managers and other team members on process improvement and quality control.
Ensures staff remains informed of changes to company policies, procedures, and standards as they apply to HR Operations. Ensures staff remains apprised of organizational-wide administrative activity, programs, and functions and staff communicates effectively with customers.
Oversees monthly reports summarizing the team interaction activity.
Ensures adherence and achievement to established goals to the Strategic Plan.
S upervise front desk area to maintain a neat and orderly condition.
S upervise incoming and outgoing HR departmental mail.
M anage operations team onboarding supply related to badging and fingerprinting.
M anage HR departmental office supply and equipment.
D evelops staff skills and training plans. Counsels, trains, and coaches subordinate staff. Ensures that employees adhere to deadlines, procedures, and quality standards; works to resolve any problems or errors. Implements corrective actions and conducts performance evaluations.
B uilds relationships and network with ANTHC departments.
P erforms other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of Alaska Native cultures and the Alaska Tribal Health System.
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting deadlines.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of applications.
  • Skill in effectively leading staff in projects and coaching others.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, payroll, and similar employee management software.
M INIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
A n Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology Business, or related field. Progressively responsible professional/exempt work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
M INIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
N on-supervisory - Three (3) year of progressively responsible administrative human resources experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
