Summary:

Under general supervision, oversees and provides clinical supervision, training, and consultation to behavioral health staff, assists with administrative work, and provides direct evidence- based, culturally congruent behavioral health services.

Responsibilities:

Provides clinical oversight for behavioral health staff including individual and group clinical supervision, training, and consultation to Masters-level clinicians, and all levels of behavioral health aids (BHAs), and other trainees within their scope of practice. Promotes a positive and healthy work environment. Reviews staff documentation to assure accurate record documentation consistent with organizational standards, and applicable State and Federal regulations. Develops goals and priorities and assigns tasks to staff.

Supports all agency licensing and accreditation processes and direct implementation of clinical behavioral health policies and procedures.

Assists with mentoring, coaching, and ensuring staff engagement to meet organizational and department clinical goals and objectives. Ensures staff meet ethical standards (e.g, Code of Ethics) that are applicable within the scope of providers within the clinic. Monitors timeframe goals for any staff needing to complete their independent licensing based upon State Alaska State licensing board requirements and professional certification with State, Federal, and National Certification Boards. Remains up to date on all required trainings that support clinical supervisors and licensure renewals.

Delivers mental health screening, individual and group therapy, assessment (within professional scope), and crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment. Provides consultative services to ANTHC medical specialty clinics and other Tribal Health Organizations.

Completes routine charting to include behavioral health evaluations and progress notes. Maintains client charts in timely and professional manner to ensure compliance with Medicaid and other applicable regulations to document diagnosis, assessment, intervention, referral, consultation, and related functions.

Participates in educational programs and/or workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of clinical knowledge and techniques.

Participates in hiring processes in conjunction with behavioral health leadership. Coaches staff on performance/behavior standards requiring immediate attention and communicates issues to behavioral health leadership. Completes annual evaluations and timekeeping validation for supervisees. Develops staff skills and training plans. Implements corrective actions and conducts performance evaluations. Recognizes and rewards staff for providing exceptional care/service and communicates efforts with behavioral health leadership. Supports administrative decisions. Ensures timely, accurate and efficient completion and approval of administrative paperwork. Maintains record keeping systems in compliance with established organizational policies and procedures.

Participates in efforts to improve the operation and efficiency of the behavioral health clinic. Makes appropriate adjustments and modifications to behavioral health services to meet consumer needs. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards, Alaska State Medicaid regulations, Department of Behavioral Health clinical regulations, and all local, state, and federal health regulations and policies. Attends department meetings and contributes to the development and implementation of statewide behavioral health supports to Tribal Health Organizations. May participate or develop educational, clinical and research services that exist within the department or in partnership with other organizational departments, or external partners.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Clinical Psychologist Supervisor

Provides clinical oversight for doctoral psychology practicum students and pre/post-doctoral psychologists. Administers psychological testing and assessment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.)in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from a program fully accredited institution by APA accredited psychology program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Non-supervisory – Four (4) years of experience delivering direct behavioral healthcare in a behavioral health clinic or hospital setting.

AND

Supervisory - Two (2) years clinical supervision experience.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

Current State of Alaska Psychologist License or State of Alaska license eligible .

PREFERRED EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

APA-accredited pre-doctoral clinical internship

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Six (6) years working as a licensed behavioral health provider.

Four (4) years clinical supervision experience.

Experience in the Alaska Tribal Health System .

Experience providing culturally-minded clinical care.

Experience working with Telehealth technology.
