Summary:

The Clinical Analytics Lead operates as a member of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) Analytics Engagement Team and has a passion for data, project management, and quality improvement. Under general direction, the Clinical Analytics Lead serves as a primary Clinical Analytics resource in documentation, implementation, design, build, support and training of Primary Care Dashboards. Fosters a supportive partnership with partners, data consumers, and members of ANTHC’s Data & Analytics Team to implement and manage service lines that include strategic analytics solutions with annual reporting processes for ANTHC, Tribal Health Organizations (THOs) across Alaska, federal and state partners.

Responsibilities:

Leads adoption and clinical process optimization of analytics dashboards focus on primary care. Incorporates best practice and evidence-based knowledge, utilizing the knowledge and skills of clinical practice, and ensuring systems and processes are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.
Leads coordination with clinicians and Data & Analytics to ensure continuous dashboard improvements and development to meet the needs of clinical care providers. Provides support and assistance with development of clinical and information management process improvement initiatives.
Leads development of presentations to the Alaska Tribal Health Quality Collaborative, Clinical Directors, Alaska Native Health Board, Shared Tribal Analytics and Reporting (STAR) and other groups highlighting analytics solutions.
Leads clinical analytics work across ANTHC and our partners to advance strategic analytics initiatives including development of project management charters, timelines, and milestones.
Leads members of Analytics Engagement team assigned to projects connected to primary care.
Adheres to and champions compliance with ANTHC data security policies and protocols.
Leads work in the following areas:
  • Provides project leadership and support for complex analytics efforts within large-scale analytics and clinical opportunities.
  • Ensures the successful deployment and adoption of analytics tools and products including Primary Care Dashboard, Uniform Data Set (UDS) Dashboard, and other analytics tools.
  • Collects and synthesizes input from clinical practice and workflows and uses that information to recommend best practices and encourage positive evolution of data use and application.
  • Attains a high degree of expertise in population health and data analytics tools and uses it to provide support and training to stakeholders in primary care knowledge areas.
  • Produces documentation for end-user training and peer-knowledge transfer, including design, writing, and maintenance of application training curriculums, upgrade notices, changes, benchmarks, presentations, videos, knowledge checklists, end-user proficiency evaluations, and updates content on webpage.
  • Works closely with stakeholders on outcomes improvement projects that seek to leverage analytics.
  • Participates in outreach events that aim to promote user engagement and education. Plans and supports coordination of annual data summit(s).
  • Leads and participants in data validation efforts prior to the release of new products or functionality and generally building the confidence of data consumers in the integrity of analytic tools, reports, value sets (grouping of information), and populations.
  • Assists in testing new system applications/upgrades/changes and other special assignments as directed.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of: a) trends and issues in health care, nursing practice and/or other clinical practice, healthcare informatics, regulatory/accreditation requirements; b) organizational policies and procedures related to clinical practice and the legal implications of the clinical information system; c) structure and hierarchy of the organization.
  • Provides clinical consultative services to Tribal Health Partners on dashboards and analytics tools. Liaises with customers to keep them informed of status of their requested projects.
  • Facilitates two-way flow of information and communication for establishing and maintaining understanding between Data and Analytics and Tribal Health Partner clinical and quality leadership. Serves as a focal point for the client in resolving inquiries for clinical analytics application support.
  • Analyzes business needs and communicating user requirements and use cases accurately.
  • Understands Tribal Health System and Tribal Health Organization needs and helps align services to meet needs, implement culturally responsive care, and respect for self-determination.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Knowledge in TJC, HIPAA, CMS, and 42 CFR Part 2 and other regulatory requirements.
    • Knowledge of patient care activities, hospital and outpatient environments and how the services and functions interact.

    • Skill in understanding medical records procedures and protocols.
    • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.

      MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
      A Master’s Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy or other clinical or informatics field. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
      MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
      Non-supervisory – Five (5) years of professional clinical practice TO INCLUDE Three (3) years of clinical application support in a hospital or medical center. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
      PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
      • Program management experience.
      • Experience in the Alaska Native Tribal Health System.
      • Experience with Project/Software Management Techniques (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and Quality Improvement (Informational Technology Infrastructure Library, Lean Six Sigma)
      • Experience with Cerner.
        ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
        • Collaborative leadership, professional drive, comfortable guiding the work of others and championing large-scale changes; ability to juggle competing priorities and maintain focus on high value deliverables. Depending on the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain additional certifications or training in one or more specialty areas.
