Summary: Provides oversight of the activities on a nursing unit during a specific shift including serving as a resource to staff, directing patient flow, precepting or mentoring staff, assuring appropriate utilization of resources, and providing oversight for the provision of quality care in a manner satisfying to patients.

M ust have participated in 30 hours every 2 years continuing education in nursing in general, 16 of which are in the specific area of practice.
