Alamo Area Council Of Governments is Hiring a WAP Energy Auditor Technician Near San Antonio, TX

Primary Responsibilities:  Perform assessments on single family homes and multi-family units; Evaluate the energy efficiency and health and safety of homes by conducting field measurements and diagnostic testing; Identify areas for energy conservation, record data collected during the assessment, input data into the National Energy Audit Tool (NEAT) or other authorized energy audit/modeling software; Create Weatherization installation work orders; Work with clients and contractors to ensure all work orders comply with program requirements; Follow up on work in progress and make necessary revisions to work orders as needed.

Tasks Performed: Schedules and conducts initial assessment of single family homes and apartments; Performs client interviews and records data collected; Performs measurements and diagnostic testing to determine energy efficiency measures that could benefit the structure as well as identify areas of health and safety concerns; Enters all data collected into the NEAT Energy Audit (or related modeling software) to produce a Weatherization installation work order; Enters all data collected into the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) priority list work order; Determines a weekly schedule of activities to ensure that production goals are met; Completes all documentation and reporting requirements for the Alamo Area Council Of Governments (AACOG) and funding sources as required; Follows up with clients and contractors to ensure all projects are completed in accordance with departmental, agency, and funding source guidelines. 

Essential Functions: Evaluates material requests to determine if any work orders are in need of revision prior to or during the installation process, and may revise work orders, if needed; accurately documents all required information in both physical case files and throughout a custom Microsoft Access database as well as work with Excel Spreadsheets; perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

Desired Education/Job Experience: High school Diploma or GED equivalent (1) year experience in housing construction and/or home remodeling, re-construction, or rehabilitation.

Other Qualifications: Ability to gather empirical data; Conduct diagnostic tests; Establish effective working relationships; Interact with clients to obtain information; Act as a liaison between clients and contractors; Knowledge of building construction processes and techniques and materials (including the physical structure, appliances and related electrical and mechanical systems); Understand and interpret code compliance issues; Bilingual is a plus.

This is a responsible, non-supervisory position, Pay Grade 12, with a starting hourly rate of $21.30. This is a non-exempt position. Open until Filled. Only electronic online applications will be accepted.
