Alamance County Government is Hiring a Recreation Assistant Near Alamance, NC

Alamance Parks is seeking part-time candidates for multiple seasonal gym and field programmers and supervisors to help with youth sports practices and games. This position provides excellent customer service by making sure games/practices run smoothly according to set guidelines and procedures. The same position can transition to other program needs for the Park system such as covering facility rentals and supporting other programs. Training includes all operational expectations as well as First Aid and AED. Hours vary seasonally with mostly weeknights and weekends. Position reports directly to the Athletics Director.

REPOST
  • Monitors customers and interacts with customers at Alamance Parks locations. 
  • Ensures adherence to established rules and regulations; maintains safe clean environment and reports any damages or issues that may cause safety hazards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with youth and young adults, provides excellent customer services, and works with minimal supervision.
  • Performs administrative duties including answering phones, responding to customers, completing forms, setting up and breaking down necessary equipment, etc.
  • Maintains cleanliness of facilities and light maintenance tasks, including cleaning restrooms and gym facility space. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. Some college course work is preferred with a major in recreation or related field. Prior experience working independently to accomplish a diverse variety of tasks. Experiencing working in customer service preferred. 
 Computer Skills: Must have a basic to intermediate functional knowledge of computers. Experience with internet, email, Microsoft Word, preferred.
 
 License/Credentials/Requirement: Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
 
 Other Important Position Information: Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position. This position is a part-time non-benefited position in which hours will vary and will average no greater than 19 hours per week.
