Position: Substitute Food Service Worker
Alabama School for the Blind, Alabama School for the Deaf
Helen Keller School, E.H. Gentry, Alabama Industries for the Blind
Work Schedule – as needed not to exceed 29 hours a week
Position Requirements:
· Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
· Must be physically able to perform job
· Must follow all AIDB policies and procedures and state and federal laws
· Must be able to adhere to confidentiality requirements
· Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
· Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB
POSITION REQUIRMENTS AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs duties in the absence of full time AIDB staff as required for position including, but not limited to the following:
Food Service Worker:
· Responsible for preparation, cooking and serving of meals to students, staff and guests.
· Wash pots and pans as required and keep work area clean.
· Maintain cleanliness of cooler, freezer, stoves, fryers and other equipment involved in food preparation and serving.
· Responsible for general clean-up in kitchen, serving line, dining room and other facilities where food may be served. Responsibilities include mopping and sweeping.
· Operate dish washer, wash pots and pans, clean food service equipment and take trash to dumpster.
· May assist cook in preparation of certain food items, including salad bar.
· Assist in the serving of food to students, staff and guests.
· Fill food requisitions and put up stock.
· Other duties as assigned
PAYROLL: $10.00 hourly rate
