About Us:

AKF's Energy Performance group is driven by the desire to connect high performance engineering design with insights gained from real world experience optimizing building performance. We believe frontiers explored designing the buildings of tomorrow should influence operations of buildings today and lessons gained enhancing operations of today's buildings must inform the design of tomorrow's buildings.

General:

The position includes performing energy modeling, energy audits, conceptual design and implementation of various energy and sustainability focused MEP design alternates for new and existing buildings across all building sectors. The individual will successfully complete energy modeling tasks and performance based energy calculations on engineering projects and for energy audits. 

What you will do:

• Perform basic calculations
• Perform energy calculations to determine energy savings for operational improvement
• Develop building energy models
• Assist in documentation processes 
• Prepare materials for presentations or client meetings
• Assist in the requests for information and drafting correspondence
• Research local and regional building energy regulations
• Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractors
• Update job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations 
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you will need:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program
• Possess strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and work effectively as part of a project team
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Introductory knowledge of BIM/Revit and AutoCAD
