Position Overview –

AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America’s leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags, is seeking a talented Shipping / Receiving Manager to add to our growing team in El Cajon, CA!

Responsibilities & Duties

• Plan, coordinate and manage the shipping & receiving functions in such a manner as to ensure that all company objectives and production goals are continually met.
• Schedule and coordinate all outbound and inbound shipments.
• Oversee all incoming and outgoing activity and ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.
• Coordinate with production staff to ensure that the quantity and timeliness of orders will be fulfilled as required.
• As needed, communicate with internal departments and/or facilities, as well as, customers regarding any issues that may impact shipping, receiving or order fulfillment.
• Review and/or complete shipping notices, bills of lading, tally sheets, orders and other related documentation.
• Review overall operation and processes and identify areas for improvement for all functions. Be able to offer recommendations for improvement and be able to successfully implement changes.
• Supervise staff to include but not limited to: designating work assignments, providing instruction,
• Reviewing completed work and providing input for performance appraisals.
• Provide continuing oversight and training of staff in order to increase their levels of knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, guidelines and procedures.
• Complete all other duties the Supervisor deems necessary.

Minimum Requirements

• Five years or more of high volume shipping and receiving management; four college degree, preferably in logistics/materials management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hi-lo experience required.
• Must possess supervisory experience and effective leadership skills.
• Must possess strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Must have high volume shipping and receiving experience.
• Have working knowledge of standard computer programs.
• Be able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks.
• APICS and/or CPIM certification preferred.
