Our goal at Ajax Adventure Camp is to help campers have fantastic and adventurous outdoor summer experiences. We hire staff with this goal in mind. We are seeking positive role models to share their passions, creativity, enthusiasm for the outdoors, and desire to have fun with our campers. While playing in the great outdoors every day is a blast, it does not come without risk. We are looking for intelligent, responsible, driven counselors who believe they can provide fun and inclusive activities while also managing the inherent risks that come with offering outdoor adventures.

Our unique camp structure allows you to create and lead activities you are passionate about and gives you the chance to bring your interests to life with the campers. If it is fun and safe, we want to allow you the opportunity to share it with the campers. You will be a leader, you will be independent, and you will be in charge of your fun.

Whatever your skills, if you can lead kids on activities where everyone has fun, including yourself, then you are qualified to be a counselor at Ajax Adventure Camp.

Salary for 11 Weeks of Camp:

• Summer Salary between $6,952 - $8,232*
• Equivalent hourly rate ~$21/hour

Employment Dates:

• Monday through Friday 8:40 AM to 5:15 PM
• Staff Training June 3 -7
• Camp Weeks (10 Weeks) - June 10 – August 16

Senior Counselor Responsibilities:

• Facilitate outdoor adventures for campers
• Lead safe and fun adventures with kids; no experience necessary!
• Assisting with daily routines such as meals, snacks, and restroom breaks
• Collaborating with other camp staff to ensure a smooth and enjoyable camp experience
• Help create a positive atmosphere for campers and fellow counselors
• Be a role model to campers and staff in your attitude and behavior
• Drive a passenger van to activities

Senior Counselor Requirements:

• Love working with kids
• Excited and Eager to spend all day outside
• Must be at least 21 years of age (other positions available for those younger)
• Available for 11 weeks
• Currently enrolled in college, or college graduate
• Valid driver’s license with no major violations
• Have CPR/ First aid training

* Pay depends on the availability, passing driver certifications, and extra certifications, such as Lifeguard or WFR/WFA

We offer competitive compensation for this position. This is a temporary role during the summer months.
