Aisin Texas Corporatiion is Hiring a Preventative Maintenance Supervisor Near Cibolo, TX

Job Profile

The Maintenance Assistant Manager - Preventive is responsible for managing the preventive maintenance program and personnel. In addition, the scope of this role includes management of the Kaizen shop (machining/fabrication center), as well as the Tool Crib (spare parts inventory).

This player/coach role requires a problem-solving mindset, consensus-building skills, and perseverance to drive projects to completion. This Assistant Manager reports to the Engineering Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This assistant manager will have direct supervision of the PM, Kaizen, and Tool Crib group leaders.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

  • Train and develop group leaders in the Aisin Way
  • Owns the in-house PM plan for production equipment: 1.) must improve the plan based off machine data and lessons learned and 2.) ensure PM’s are completed safely, on time, every time
  • Continuously improve the maintenance training program by reviewing methods and materials with your team
  • Ensure zero parts/material shortages occur through effective inventory management and communication
  • Maintain on-time-delivery of the work orders submitted to your Kaizen team
  • Lead by serving – go to the floor to understand machine problems, manufacturing needs, or inventory issues 
  • Build an innovative culture by listening to your team’s ideas for improvement, and supporting them to make those ideas a reality
  • Drive a culture of problem-solving and thorough root cause analysis among the maintenance team – don’t settle for “good enough”
  • Manage the budget for PM, Kaizen, and Tool Crib sections
  • Drive the daily improvement of safety, quality, productivity, and indirect material cost
  • Establish and maintain productive and effective working relationships with TX team members and Japanese counterparts

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or 10 years in a Maintenance role in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Maintenance role in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory/managerial role 
  • Previous experience either completing PM’s or managing a PM plan
  • Must be capable of collaborating with other teams outside maintenance to get consensus before implementing changes
  • Demonstrated ability to apply root cause analysis to solve problems – and know how to teach it to your team
  • Previous experience managing maintenance projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working in a cross-cultural environment 
  • Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical drawings
  • Knowledge of and prior experience using general measurement instruments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and management skills 

Desired Skills 

  • Previous experience with the maintenance of PLC’s, CNC machining, and six-axis robots
  • Previous experience managing inventory of a maintenance shop or tool crib
  • Previous hands-on experience with machining or welding
  • Goal-oriented, self-confident, able to take constructive feedback
  • Understands manufacturing maintenance metrics and how to manage them
  • Ability to coach/teach members to follow department policies and processes
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and build Team Member engagement

Working / Physical Conditions

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to travel on business in US or Japan
