AIS HealthCare is Hiring a PRN Intrathecal Registered Nurse Near Eugene, OR

AIS HealthCare™ seeks a PRN intrathecal implanted pump Registered Nurse for a territory surrounding Eugene OR. The RN must be willing to travel some within a 2- to 3-hour radius from time to time, as there may be some patients in outlying areas of the territory.

This position is responsible for performing complete physical assessments for pain patients as well as completing intrathecal pump refills. The nurse also has an active patient education role and interacts extensively with pharmacy staff to plan and implement patient scheduling, deliveries, and clinical assessment.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of Registered Nursing experience, preferably in pain management, home health, oncology, infusion and/or critical care.
  • The RN must hold a current unrestricted RN license in the state(s) of practice.
  • Current BLS required.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, reliability are expected.
  • Good time management and strong computer skills are a must.

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing all aspects of patient care including: Refilling and programming intrathecal pump; Providing comprehensive assessment and reassessment with each patient interaction as well as patient and caregiver teaching; Coordinating patient care with ordering physician and care team to include pharmacist, and reimbursement specialist o Initiating start of care, processing orders, notifying physician of patient needs and changes in condition; Assessing intrathecal pump functionality at each visit and monitor for signs/symptoms of infection at pump and catheter site; Completing all required patient care documentation and reports accurately; Submitting all required patient care documentation and reports in a time manner; Informing the physician and personnel of changes in the condition and needs of the patient and documenting accordingly
  • Maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA and Joint Commission regulations
  • Understanding and adhering to established company policies and procedures
  • Participating in performance improvement activities for the enhancement of care delivery
  • Stays knowledgeable of current clinical issues and standards and incorporates them into daily practice
