This position is responsible for assisting the Managed Care Department in the consistent management of all payor contracts. This generally includes involvement in the credentialing and contract management process, document management and relationship management. The Contract Coordinators’ role in the contracting process requires close collaboration with various departments, including compliance, legal, operations, nursing and pharmacy.
· Tracks and monitors contracts throughout their lifecycle from inception to execution and post-implementation; facilitates the routing, approval, and execution of third party payor contracts to present for review
· Compiles and completes credentialing documents required by payors for execution of contracts and continued services by AIS
· Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding contracts, third party contracted programs, and credentialing requirements.
· Builds, maintains and enhances relationships with internal and external managed care stakeholders in coordination with the department’s goals and objectives.
· Ensures that managed care contracts are properly organized and tracked through the department management tools.
· Assures accuracy and appropriateness of contract language and attachments.
· Interfaces with payors where needed to management relationships and meet department goals and objectives.
· Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patient’s rights to privacy and confidentiality.
· Completes assigned paperwork/documents as directed in a timely manner.
· Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member.
· Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
· Performs other job related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
• Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow.
• Strong work ethic with personal qualities of integrity and credibility.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in the workplace.
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (i.e. creating and modifying text styles, numbering and sorting lists, working with sections and columns, formatting tables, and using templates and using diagrams and drawing tools)
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (i.e. formatting text and borders of cells, working with workbooks and worksheets, using range names, referencing cells, sorting, and auto filtering).
