• Able to meet and maintain industry physical fitness requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of Wind Technicians consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Perform varying scopes of work on wind power plant facilities.
2. Climb up to 400 feet.
3. Communicate project progress to Operations Manager.
4. Abide to all site – specific safety guidelines.
5. Perform regular training as directed by Management.
6. Operate hydraulic and electrical torque equipment.
7. Submit daily timesheets for approval.
8. Take part in regular meetings.
9. Travel when asked by management.
10. Follow procedures and guidelines for all jobs.
11. Ensure that all hazards are getting communicated to Management.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience

Wind technician experience requirements may vary based on the level of technician needed.

1. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

The incumbent must have knowledge of basic computer skills and applications, core mechanical and electrical knowledge, and the ability to climb up to 400 feet.

1. Physical

Body Positions: Sitting, standing, walking, and climbing.

Body Movements: Walking, turning head and torso, bending arms, wrists and fingers. Must have capability to lift to 50 pounds.

Body Senses: Must have corrected vision and hearing and ability of English language speech.

1. Mental

Mathematics: Must be able to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and perform basic mathematics as needed.

Language: Must communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing to prepare estimates, coordinate instructions for team personnel, and interact with customers.

Mechanical: Must have knowledge of the equipment required in the work to be performed in the projects

Requirements

Required Education/Training

Academic Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree from any wind institute.

Certifications:

• Wind Turbine Rescue Training (ENSA, TSL, Gravitec, or GWO)
• NFPA 70E
• First-Aid/CPR (GWO, Medic First Aid, Health and Safety Institute, American Red Cross)
• OSHA 10

• Evaluation Process
• A Wind Technician is performing in a satisfactory manner when the following is accomplished:
• Work is performed timely and efficiently.
• Employee are consistently on time in reporting for work and ready for work each day.
• Has received satisfactory evaluations from Site Management and Operations Managers.
• Employee performs safe work and follows the guidelines provided by Airway Services.
• Wind Technicians evaluations will be done a least once annually.
