Are you as passionate as we are about creating truly low-power, innovative, and user-friendly end-customer products? Would you like to write embedded software that empowers people to understand more about the air that we all breathe? Are you eager to tackle new tasks and confident in developing simple, elegant, tested, and maintainable embedded software solutions? Would you like to make an impact in one of Norway`s fastest-growing tech companies?
Then we would very much like to hear from you! Join the embedded software team and work with engineers who appreciate a bad pun and well-written embedded software!
We in the embedded software team are a team that develops the sensor devices and connectivity technology that are the foundation of the Airthings ecosystem. We're working in an agile way using modern tools. Continuous integration with docker-based build environments is not just a thing for cloud software… Give us an impossible task to solve and we'll happily solve it for you, "How hard can it be?". Embedded Software is at the heart of what we do, and we need to stay at the forefront of it while creating the best low-power and robust embedded sensor solutions.
As a Senior Embedded Software Developer, you will, together with the team, bring our solutions to the next level. You will work with the research, development, and implementation of Airthing’s unique low-power wireless protocols on both current and future products. In this senior role, you will work intimately with other senior wireless experts on the team to add new features and improve existing ones, such as provisioning, security, and more.
You will be an integral part of Airthing’s embedded software team as a whole and will, in addition to wireless connectivity, also contribute to implementing drivers, middleware, and more. You will work within Airthings on a range of products for both B2C and B2B customers. The work will involve collaboration with Airthing's cross-disciplinary project teams across software, hardware, and product.
You, and the solutions you create, will be an integral part of Airthing's future success and, of course, how our customers worldwide experience our products and solutions.
Key tasks and areas of responsibility:
To name a few technologies in use in our team: C, Python, ARM Cortex-M MCUs, TI-RTOS, FreeRTOS, STM32, TI Code Composer Studio, Clang, mbedTLS, LwIP, Docker, Low power communication protocols; Bluetooth Low Energy, WiFi, Cellular and Proprietary Sub1-GHz radio protocols.
You get to work right in the city center of Oslo you will be a key member of a great international team and for a company becoming a world leader in smart radon and air quality monitors for indoor air. As it happens, we were recently awarded, as one of only two Norwegian companies, a place in The Times list of the top 100 inventions.
Other positives:
You are…
You have a Master's degree in electrical engineering, software development, or similar and 5 years of experience as an embedded software developer working actively with low-power wireless and embedded software in C/C .
You get excited about implementing complex solutions under resource constraints. You love to work in an environment of continuous learning and improvement where we all constructively review each other's code. You excel at walking the line of writing code that gets the job done fast, but with a level of quality that makes sure, it will not come back to bite you later.
You have experience in working with wireless protocols and stacks - ideally both proprietary protocols and standardized protocols, like Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15.4, Thread, or others.
Applicants with RTOS experience are preferred. Experience with Texas Instruments CC13/26xx products as well as experience working with the firmware on customer end-products is a bonus.
As a person, you thrive in an environment where you can learn from others and teach others. You enjoy a fast-paced and open environment, where every voice counts.
