Job Summary

The ACAA’s Electronics Technician maintains and repairs electronic equipment such as computers, industrial controls, audio and video systems, transmitters, antennas, security systems, current regulators, variable speed drives, and PLC’s.

Here is how the Electronics Technician will help:

  • Provides maintenance and repair to the building automation system (B.A.S.), fire alarm, security, sound system and low voltage control of building lighting systems.
  • Provides maintenance and repair to the radio communications system, universal cabling system, switchgear monitoring and the computerized runway lighting system.
  • Tests faulty equipment and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • Tests electronic components and circuits to locate defects.
  • Replaces defective components and wiring.
  • Aligns, adjusts, and calibrates equipment according to specifications.
  • Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
  • Work safely and abide by all ACAA safety guidelines.
  • Develop or participate in the job safety analysis procedures.
  • Adhere to ACAA guidelines set forth by the Dress Code and Personal Protective Equipment policy.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

The following requirementslist the minimum education/training/experience required to qualify for this job. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.

Preferred requirements to apply for role of Electronics Technician are:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Five years’ experience in the electronics field.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the craft or equivalent training at an accredited trade or technical school, or military training.
  • F.C.C. license or equivalent (N.A.B.E.R. or C.E.T.) is a plus.
  • Current, valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license or ability to obtain.

We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases:

  • Considerable knowledge in the practices, methods, tools and materials of the electronics trade.
  • Knowledge in occupational hazards and techniques of safety precautions and injury prevention programs.
  • Considerable ability to work according to standard practices, using the tools, materials and equipment of the trade.
  • Considerable ability to apply troubleshooting logic in diagnosing, isolating, and repairing circuit malfunctions.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Some knowledge of two-way radio repair, and computers.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
